The Firemaking Minigame Guide - Beacons
92+ Firemaking required to complete.

Preparation:
Items needed:
  • Tinderbox
  • Beast of Burden
  • 325 Magic logs
  • 3 Jute Fibres
  • 2 Iron bars
  • Needle
  • Hammer
  • 10 steel nails (I used 8)
  • 4 Oak Planks
  • Various Teleport Runes
Some parts of the route need repairing. Get the materials noted above out of the bank (logs, beast of burden & tinderbox not necessary for this stage). Teleport to Burthorpe games room, go to the Burthorpe beacon & repair the ladder. Then teleport to trollheim and go through the shortcut to the wilderness, run south until you find the other beacon with a ladder next to it - repair that ladder. Then run back north to the temple thing in level 40, or so, wilderness - repair that ladder. Then go back to level 20 wilderness and teleport to trollheim again. Go past the entrance of the god wars dungeon and up the rockslide. Repair the wind break next to that beacon and that's all the repairing, finished.

Firstly, I bought 350 magic logs but only used 325. The reason I used magic logs is because the better the log, the longer the beacon stays alight. These logs give you ample time to get the route done.

When you have all of your logs, grab your best BoB (Spirit terrorbird/war tortoise/pack yak/bum slave). Wear a ring of duelling or amulet of glory so you have some form of teleport without your inventory space being taken. When you're ready, summon your BoB and fill it with logs. Fill your invent too and start loading the beacons with logs. DO NOT LIGHT THEM. Best if you don't bring a tinderbox for this part.

Go get a white tree fruit which can be picked from the white tree if you've done the Garden Of Tranquility quest.

The information map won't tell you that your beacons are filled with logs, but don't worry, they are.

When you've loaded all of your beacons with logs (It doesn't matter what order you did this), you need to be prepared to go light them as quick as possible.

The burning:

Go get infinite run, summon another BoB, fill it with logs, get your white tree fruit & bring an invent full of logs as well as a tinderbox. This is the order I lit the beacons:
  • The River Salve (Pay the guy 5 logs once you've lit the beacon and he'll keep the beacon alight for longer, for you).
  • The Rag & Bone man (Pay the guy again)
  • North of the Jolly Boar Inn (Pay him)
  • North of Varrock Castle (Give her the white fruit and then pay her)
-- You should have used 20 logs by now --
  • North of the Grand Exchange (Pay)
  • Edgeville (Pay)
-- Bank and get more logs, a games necklace, a catspeak ammy & trollheim teleport runes. Back your glory but keep your ring of duelling. A sara brew or two would be handy. --
  • Monastery (Pay)
  • Teleport to Burthorpe and go to that beacon (Pay)
  • Teleport to Trollheim and go to the shortcut beacon (Pay)
  • Continue through the shortcut & go south to the ladder and up it (Pay)
  • If you have 10+ logs. Go north along the Western boundary of the wilderness to the Temple (No payment)
  • Continue north to the Ice Plateau one (No payment)
-- Get to level 20 wilderness or go to the mage bank & either teleport to castle wars, or just bank and get fally teleport runes. --
  • Teleport to Falador, run north through the goblin village to the beacon (No payment)
  • Teleport to Trollheim and go to the godwars dungeon entrance, then keep going a bit north-east up a rock-slide. Light it.
